Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions govern the relationship between the operator of the PEDIA.dog web application and its users. By registering and using the service, you agree to these terms as currently in force.
1. Introductory provisions
The PEDIA.dog service is operated by Alena Konaříková, company ID (IČO) 73879631, with registered office at Hovězí 755, 756 01 Hovězí, Česká republika (the “Operator”). The Operator is not a VAT payer. Contact e-mail: info@pedia.dog.
The service is governed by the law of the Czech Republic, in particular the Civil Code and personal data protection legislation (GDPR). Matters not regulated here are governed by the applicable legislation.
2. Definitions
- PEDIA.dog — a web application serving as a record book for kennels and a showcase of breeders and puppies.
- Breeder — a user with a registered kennel.
- Prospective buyer — a registered user searching for puppies and breeders.
- Kennel — a breeder’s profile with records of dogs, litters and listings.
- Litter — a group of puppies recorded under a kennel.
3. Registration and user account
Registration is passwordless — sign-in is verified by a one-time code sent by e-mail, or via social login (Google, Facebook, Apple). Users must provide true and up-to-date information.
Kennels are subject to manual verification by the Operator. Users are responsible for protecting access to their e-mail and account. As a rule, each user may have one account.
4. Scope of the service
For breeders, the service provides records of dogs, litters, pedigrees and health records, and a tool for presentation and communication with prospective buyers. For prospective buyers, it serves as a search engine for breeders and puppies.
PEDIA.dog is not a party to purchase contracts between breeders and prospective buyers and does not broker them. The Operator reserves the right to modify, develop and improve the service on an ongoing basis.
5. Rights and obligations of the user
Users undertake to provide true information and to record only their own dogs and litters. They must not misuse the service for unlawful conduct or harassment of other users, nor interfere with its technical security.
Users are responsible for the content they publish. The Operator may remove content violating these terms or the law without compensation.
6. Rights and obligations of the Operator
The Operator provides the service with due care. Uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed; necessary technical outages and maintenance do not constitute a breach of these terms.
The Operator may restrict or block an account that violates these terms, in particular where false information is provided or the law is broken.
The Operator may use a kennel’s public content (in particular its name, logo, public photographs, profile, news and listings) to promote that kennel and the PEDIA.dog service, especially on the service’s official social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Instagram). Each such promotion links to the kennel’s profile in the service. Breeders may object to the promotion of their content at any time by messaging the Operator.
7. Service price and payment terms
Browsing and searching is free of charge for prospective buyers. At present, all features of the service are free. In the future, some features for breeders may be offered under a paid subscription — any fees will be announced in advance by the Operator and the current price list will be published on the website. Payment is made before paid features are activated, via the Stripe payment gateway.
8. User verification
User sign-in is verified by e-mail (a one-time code) or social login. Kennels are additionally subject to manual credibility verification. For verification purposes, the Operator may request additional documents (e.g. registration documents or an extract from the stud book).
9. Termination and account deletion
Users may terminate the contract at any time by deleting their account in the settings. After a 30-day period, personal data is anonymised or deleted in accordance with the GDPR; selected records required by law are retained for the statutory period.
The Operator may terminate the contract in the event of a breach of these terms, or without giving a reason with a 30-day notice period.
10. Complaints and liability
Please send complaints and suggestions to info@pedia.dog; we handle them within 30 days. The Operator is not liable for user-generated content, for communication between users, for concluded purchase contracts, or for data loss caused by the user.
The total amount of damages payable by the Operator shall not exceed the annual subscription fee paid by the user.
11. Out-of-court dispute resolution
If the user is a consumer, they have the right to out-of-court dispute resolution. The body for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (www.coi.cz). The European online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr may also be used.
12. Final provisions
The Operator may unilaterally amend these terms; changes will be announced at least 14 days in advance (e.g. by e-mail or a notice in the service). Users have the right to terminate the contract before the new terms take effect. These terms are governed by Czech law and are effective from 1 November 2026. If the user is a consumer, the choice of Czech law does not deprive them of the protection afforded by provisions of the law of the country of their habitual residence that cannot be derogated from by agreement.
